But as with any software and freeware that you get for windows, there is always a chance of some crappy malware sneaking in and messing up your ethical system, right? That’s still better than nothing and will help you understand what video games used to be versus what they have become today. Perfection is hard to demand especially when the development of the platform is so scarce it has become more of a history project now. No emulator for N64 works flawlessly on Windows, okay? But I have to be honest with you about one thing.
I missed my chance with it because you know, I was a toddler and was slightly underage to know how a gaming controller is different from a chew toy. It was apparently planned to be called as the Ultra 64 which would’ve been slightly more impressive in my opinion, but the N64 is fine too, I guess. It was named so because it was based on a 64-bit processing unit, which was a pretty big deal at the time.
I'm at wit's end and was hoping someone with more experience with the Wonderswan might be able to point me to anything useful, or let me know if my only hope is just to bite the bullet and keep chugging along.Do you remember the Nintendo64 from back in the days of 2000s? It was released back in 1996, so that year people witnessed the birth of two phenomenal entities, N64 and myself! Jokes aside, N64 emulators for pc is genuinely a great gaming console, one of the legends.
Trying to find docs on google about how the Wonderswan hardware works has also been a nightmare (though, this page has been super helpful), and I haven't even tried figuring out a proper workflow to actually build and apply a patch (has everyone prior just used a disassembler or hex editor or something?).
I've been trying to use Mednafen's Wonderswan emulator + debugger, but the debugger interface leaves a lot to be desired (the terminal-only interface requires me to be quite meticulous and resolution scaling on my monitor has been a bit troublesome). I've had no such luck with the Wonderswan. Between BGB, rgbds, and the plethora of documentation on the Gameboy, I've had no real trouble doing whatever I needed to do. I've been working with the GB tools for romhacking for a while, and have been spoiled by them. I've had an interest in creating a fan translation for Medarot Perfect Edition on the Wonderswan for a while, but quite frankly I'm having a hard time finding a central source for information/tools on the Wonderswan.
